In the beginning...
I was asked the other day how I got started in Neurofeedback from being a Naturopathic Doc. The story goes something like this.
My daughter was about 6 years old and I was ready to get back into the work force and work outside of my home part time. I had a friend that knew this and her and her friend approached me one day and asked if I would be interested in doing neurofeedback on RAD kids. They are both psychotherapists. I responded with, "What's neurofeedback and what's RAD!" And here I am 13+ years later!
We each paid a third to send me for my education in the field then I spent the next two years paying them back and working with them on foster care children. It was truly a learning experience for all of us. The changes in these children were nothing short of miraculous.
I learned so much int he first two years and it certainly laid the foundation for working with solders with PTSD later on in my career. This field has certainly been an incredible adventure and I am looking forward to the next 13+ years!

Try new food
I have always taught my children to try new foods. Research them. Learn about them. And most of all taste them at least once. My daughter tried what's called a century duck egg. Our friend John couldn't handle it and spit it out but Meme and I enjoyed a very distinct flavor egg!!

Jack fruit
I have always taught my kids to try new food. Take a "no thank you bite" if you're not sure.
I have always wanted to try Jackfruit.
This is what I learned.
Eat the yellow part. It tastes like a sweet pineapple cookie without the zing of citrus. It is DELICIOUS!

Fruit dressing.
Any fruit with oil and vinegar (usually apple cider vinegar) makes an amazing dressing for a salad. This one is made from nectarines. Super easy and Delicious !!!

Getting in the groove!
It has been a long journey moving to North Carolina. I feel like my food choices suffered and my health was not what I like it to be. We have been here a week today and I am determined to eat the way I love. I just look at my lunch today and I feel good. Yummy!
Lettuce, kale from a local farmer, avocado, some kind of melon from a local Asian market, peppers, blueberries and topped with cashews!!
